The YMCA of the Foothills announced that Ballmer Group has invested $20 million over three years to nine YMCAs in LA County, empowering the facilities to expand their capacity to serve low-income youth through innovative out-of-school programming.
“With this life-changing gift from the Ballmer Group, our Y will have the opportunity to serve the most overlooked and marginalized youth populations within our service area,” said Vince Iuculano, CEO of the YMCA of the Foothills.
The collective mission of the Y is to create safe, nurturing environments where young people can thrive. It offers diverse enrichment programs designed to foster personal growth, academic success and social-emotional development. By collectively investing in youth, the Y is not just changing individual lives – it is strengthening the fabric of the entire LA County region.
“The full belief and trust that the Ballmer Group has in our Y,” stated Greg Grande, board chair of the YMCA of the Foothills, “to deploy this $150,000 grant through programs, services and positive experiences for youth and teens speaks to the great work we have done over our 66-year history and enables us to make a deeper impact on our entire community.”
The three-year partnership with Ballmer Group and the California State Alliance of YMCAs exemplifies the power of strategic collaboration to address complex social challenges. Through mentorship, educational support and character-building activities, the Y is instilling values that will shape the next generation of responsible, compassionate, and civic-minded adults.
