The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada-AM (the AM Kiwanis Club) was awarded a Presidential Community Service Award by Dick Olmstead, governor of the Cal-Nev-Ha Kiwanis district, on Aug. 17 at the district convention in Santa Clara.

For more than 19 years, every day of the year, members of the AM Kiwanis Club picked up extra bakery and dairy products from local supermarkets as well as other food stores and delivered them to shelters and service centers for homeless and needy families. President Rosemary Hook and President Elect Tom Petersmeyer accepted the award.
