Heather Bodell of La Crescenta, Daniel Kang of Tujunga and Ryan Kim of Glendale joined the Boilermaker community by participating in the annual Boiler Gold Rush program at Purdue University’s West Lafayette campus.

The mission of Boiler Gold Rush is to orient new students and their families during their transition to Purdue by creating a fun and stimulating environment, providing access to opportunities on Purdue’s campus and in the Lafayette/West Lafayette community, and by offering meaningful activities and leadership opportunities to encourage student success.

Roughly 6,000 students participated in the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s spring commencement ceremonies May 18-20.

Former Yahoo! CEO and UW alum Carol Bartz delivered the charge to graduates at commencement ceremonies held at the Kohl Center.

Patrick Lewis Degnan of La Cañada earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, Business: Finance, Investment and Banking, Business: Risk Management and Insurance from UW-Madison.

Baylor University conferred degrees on nearly 500 graduates during summer commencement exercises Aug. 11 in the Ferrell Center on the Baylor campus.     Baylor’s nationally recognized academic divisions offer 151 baccalaureate degrees, 76 master’s degrees, a juris doctor, 29 doctoral degree programs and two education specialist degrees through 11 academic units.

Nicole Ann Petro of La Crescenta graduated this spring with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Nutrition Sciences.

Chartered in 1845 by the Republic of Texas, Baylor is a private Baptist university classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as a research university with “high research activity.”

The Allen Lund Company announced the addition of Gilbert Aspeitia as corporate sales manager. The company will look to Aspeitia to help grow its offices and expand into national sales.

With more than 20 years of transportation and logistics experience, specialization in cross border transportation and integrated solutions, Aspeitia formally held the vice president position of Sales and Corporate Development at USA Dry Van Logistics.
