Did you ever think you could give back to your community just by eating ice cream? That’s what clever members of the Glendale Latino Assoc. (GLA) thought. From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Aug. 30 an ice cream social fundraiser was held at Baskin Robbins on North Glendale Avenue in Glendale. Donated to GLA would be 20% of all sales.

Ann Ransford, member of the Glendale Community College Board of Trustees, picked her favorite flavor – Rocky Road – two scoops in a cup.

Said Ransford, “I’m happy to support GLA. My ice cream tastes so good on a hot day.”

Verdugo Woodlands residents, mother and daughter Debbie Lopez and Adi Lopez, 10, enjoyed their favorite flavor, chocolate chip. They didn’t know a fundraiser was taking place but were happy to contribute.
