The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada is hosting its 14th Annual Wine & Gourmet Food Tasting event on Sunday, Sept. 25 at Memorial Park. The afternoon includes food and wine tasting, with a premium wine opportunity drawing.

This annual event is presented by the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada, the La Cañada Chamber of Commerce and Vendome Wine & Spirits.

Wine enthusiasts will enjoy wine from many different regions and will be able to taste cabernets to chardonnays, to name a few. Approximately 20 gourmet restaurants and caterers from the area will be offering samples of their favorite dishes.

The tasting has blossomed into a very entertaining event. Advance tickets are on sale for $50, $60 at the gate. Ticketholders will be greeted with a wine glass and appetizer tray. Attendees can also participate in the Kiwanis Club new premium wine opportunity drawing that includes wines from Schramsberg, Far Niente and Benziger to name a few.

This event is coordinated by Mary Gant and Clyde Hemphill of the La Cañada Kiwanis.

“It takes many Kiwanians to put this event on and is the most successful fundraiser for the club,” Hemphill said.

“It’s the most fun you will have in an afternoon for $50,” Gant said. “For $50 you have an adult event where you can go and get to socialize with friends, sample the [food of] restaurants and caterers in the area, and also sample wines.”

The event begins at 3 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m.

Tickets are available through the La Cañada website http://www.lacanadakiwanis.org.

Memorial Park is located at 1225 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada.
