The second annual Healing Hands for Arthritis fundraiser, sponsored by Massage Envy spas nationwide on Sept. 19, raised funds for a specific arthritis-related cause with Massage Envy offering massages and facials from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Glendale’s Massage Envy donated $10 from each massage and facial that day to the Arthritis Foundation.

“We reached our individual goal,” said Diana Pagdilao, junior assistant clinic administrator at Massage Envy Glendale. Pagdilao said the facility’s goal was to raise $1,000, the cost of sending a young local boy to a summer camp geared towards helping children with special needs. The Arthritis Foundation sponsors camps across the country which aid children diagnosed with juvenile arthritis and other rheumatic conditions, combining activities with education on proper nutrition and living with arthritis. Approximately 300,000 children in the United States suffer from juvenile arthritis or a similar condition.

“It was an awesome event,” said Pagdilao, who said they logged over 100 hours of service to reach their goal.
