The La Crescenta Woman’s Club is hosting a fundraiser on the night of Saturday, Oct. 26, following up the previous year’s event with a continuation of the “Western Round-up” theme. Ten gallon hats and spurs will be welcomed and even rewarded at the round-up, which will feature music, dinner, dancing and prizes for the best costumed attendees. A ring toss for wine will be a new addition this year (toss the ring on the bottle to win).
The Woman’s Club, a volunteer organization, contributes to programs within the community, particularly in the areas of youth and education. As such, Saturday night’s proceeds will go towards a scholarship fund, according to house chair
Carol Benedetti.
The Woman’s Club is also seeking to renovate its building, located at 4004 La Crescenta Ave. The building is over 100 years old, according to Maryann Baghdasarian of the Woman’s Club and is in need of repair to the sidewalks towards the back entrance, the establishment of a handicapped entrance and a remodeling of the building’s kitchen.
“We’re trying to keep it as close to its original form as possible, while still bringing it up to date,” said Benedetti.
The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. To reserve a spot, call Carol Benedetti at (818) 248-6624.
Reservations are required by Oct. 19.
