Tujunga’s McGroarty Arts Center was rockin’ combining its fifth annual Burgers, Beer, & Band Night with a facility re-opening party after a two-year pandemic closure. On Saturday, Oct. 15, more than 300 supporters, primarily from Sunland and Tujunga, let their hair down to rock out to the live music from La Rue Sounds. The burgers and beer sold out in record time. “We bring low-cost art to everyone,” said Center Executive Director Kylie Ruan. “We have art classes for the mind, body and soul.”
The historic facility, built by John McGroarty in the 1800s, has been serving the foothill communities for over 30 years with adult and youth art classes and exhibits at bargain basement prices.
Next up is the Center’s annual Chili Bowl Festival and holiday boutique on Dec. 3 and 4.
McGroarty Arts Center is located at 7570 McGroarty Terrace in Tujunga.
