Daughters of the American Revolution, Don Jose Verdugo Chapter invite the community to attend and join in the following activities open to the public; all are welcome.
Nov. 1 is a coffee and book signing beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the La Cañada Library; 4545 Oakwood Ave. The speaker is Ronald C. White Jr., author of several books on Lincoln, Grant and now Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, an officer in the Civil War. His book on Chamberlain is “On Great Fields.”
The DAR meeting takes place after the book discussion and Q&A.
White is a graduate of UCLA and Princeton Theological Seminary, receiving a Ph.D. from Princeton University. He has taught at UCLA, Whitworth University, Colorado College and Princeton Seminary. He has lectured on Lincoln at the White House, and in England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico and New Zealand. He lives with his wife Cynthia in Pasadena, California.

The December Chapter meeting on Dec. 6 will be a luncheon at the Oakmont Country Club. There is an outstanding speaker and program planned.
