Cal Poly Pomona, College of Engineering announced that Andres C. Torres received the Chang Family President’s Scholar award. Torres is majoring in mechanical engineering.

Approximately 1,500 students were named to the Biola University dean’s list in spring 2024. Biola students are placed on the dean’s list to honor those with a GPA of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credits and whose cumulative GPA is at least 3.2.
The following local residents were named to the dean’s list: Faith Choi of La Crescenta, majoring in allied health; Emily Low, majoring in comm sciences disorders and Melissa Dunnigan, majoring in English, both of Sunland; Jakob Torres of La Cañada Flintridge, majoring in kinesiology.
Recently Biola broke ground on its new state-of-the-art 45,463 square-foot studio facility for students in the Snyder School of Cinema & Media Arts, which is one of the fastest growing schools and programs at Biola. The university also renovated its largest auditorium and dedicated it to its original dedicatee, Ethel Lee.
