More than a thousand people attended a fundraiser at the Alex Theatre on Oct. 26 to raise funds for Glendale Adventist Medical Center Cancer Center.
The event, Laugh 4 A Cause, was organized by the GAMC Cancer Care Guild and featured world renowned actor, comedian and producer Vahik Pirhamzei, the always popular comedian K-von, the Allen G. Orchestra and a slate of top singers and entertainers. Proceeds from the event will fund cancer support services offered at GAMC including personal and family counseling, support groups, classes and a positive image program that provides wigs, hats and scarves to cancer fighters free of charge. All cancer patients – regardless of where they receive medical treatment – can participate in the cancer support services offered by GAMC.
“It was a wonderful event that brought our entire community together for an important cause – to help cancer survivors with free services and support programs,” said Guild President Tina Parsegian. “The GAMC Cancer Care Guild members worked very hard and had a lot of fun, too.”
Laugh 4 A Cause comedy night was also the culmination of the third annual Army of Pink campaign where six prominent men in the community worked to spread the word about breast cancer prevention. The GAMC Cancer Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons and recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award.
