“Taste in the Foothills” is a mouth watering success

By Shana LiVIGNI

Hundreds of Crescenta Valley residents poured into the Marketplace Shopping Center on Wednesday evening, Nov. 11 – and they came hungry. It was a perfect evening for cool jazz by the Crescenta Valley High School Jazz Band, hot cider from Citibank and an array of cuisines from Crescenta Valley’s finest eateries. Locals of all ages cruised from tent to tent, wishing they had four hands instead of two in order to hold all the sample plates of pizza, sandwiches, sausages, meatballs, desserts, dinners, salads and on and on.

For only $15, you could sample foods from restaurants like Baja Fresh Mexican Grill, Berolina Bakery, Damon’s Steakhouse, Dominick’s Italian Restaurant, Domino’s Pizza, Dream Dinners, Frank’s Famous Kitchen & Catering, House of Joy Chinese Restaurant, Leo’s All-Star Sports Bar & Grill, New Moon Restaurant, Ralph’s Fresh Faire, Schreiner’s Fine Sausages, Senior Nacho, Starbucks, Togo’s/Baskin Robbins, Tortas Mexico, Trader Joe’s and Urartu Restaurant.

The delicious fundraiser was organized by the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce with a portion of the proceeds being directed to the Veteran’s War Memorial at Two Strike Park in La Crescenta.
