Veterans honored by Builder’s Club and Kiwanis

Rosemont Builders Club and Montrose-La Crescenta Kiwanis Club honored those who had served in the military at a Veteran’s Day dinner on Thursday night at St. Luke’s of the Mountains.

In honor of Veteran’s Day the Rosemont kids invited a veteran to the dinner. They said it wasn’t difficult to convince their veterans. McKenna and Taylor Middleton invited their dad Rik as their veteran.  A.J. Absy invited his Rosemont teacher Terry Parker. When asked if any of the students knew Parker was a veteran most said they could tell he was.

“I figured he was ‘cause he is kind of gruff and is real serous when we say the Pledge of Allegiance, “ said Taylor Middleton.

“We need to honor the veterans,” added Andrew Dorosy. “They put their life on the line for our country and they deserve some respect back.”_—The Crescenta Valley High School JROTC had a busy Veteran’s Day beginning with a ceremony in the afternoon at Two Strike Park and ending at the Kiwanis
dinner.
