In collaboration with its physician partners, Glendale Adventist Medical Center announced the reopening of its newly accredited joint venture surgery center. It offers a full spectrum of specialized outpatient surgical procedures and is one of the largest facilities of its kind in the area.
The facility (which opened originally in 2008) was recently renamed to Physicians Adventist Surgery Center (PASC) to reflect the joint venture. The hospital and physicians share ownership of this facility but ASD Management will oversee the day-to-day operations.
PASC has over 45 credentialed physicians and a dedicated team of nurses, surgical technicians and administrative staff. It’s located in the Lee Hughes Medical Building on campus at GAMC, across from the Emergency Dept. and connected via sky-bridge to the hospital’s West Tower.
The 15,000 square foot center has four surgical suites with advanced technology, one general procedure room, two private recovery rooms and patient/family reception area. The PASC covers a wide range of specialties, including ears, nose, and throat (ENT), general surgery, gynecology, minimally invasive spine, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management, plastic/reconstructive surgery and podiatry.
“Healthcare is changing rapidly and requires greater efficiencies with tighter economic constraints. PASC can meet those challenges without compromise to excellent, safe, quality care. Our goal is to offer convenience, affordable outpatient surgical services while keeping our patients safe, our number one priority,” said Dr. Philip Merritt, medical director of PASC.
