Sheina Martinez from Pomona had a wish, and the Trusted Choice Insurance Agents from Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena helped her fulfill her wish. Martinez is 16 and is battling acute lymphoid leukemia.

Martinez recently finished chemo, ending a particularly hard couple of months. She became paralyzed for several days and suffered from other side effects that impacted her brain. Physical therapy helped and she is walking better now. In addition, Martinez signed with a modeling agent before she was diagnosed and was deeply disappointed when she couldn’t continue with her career in modeling. Being a girl obsessed with fashion, she turned to makeup as an outlet. Her wish was to have a shopping spree at the MAC Store.

The Mac Store and Nordstrom rolled out the red carpet for her and hundred of supporters lined up to cheer her when she arrived. After getting her makeup done, she headed to Nordstrom and was provided with a personal shopper. Her private dressing room quickly filled with clothes and even a “swag bag” filled with makeup, Juicy Couture items and jewelry.

After lunch in the Nordstrom Café, a professional photographer arranged for a photo shoot of Martinez outside the mall so she could put her modeling skills to work.

Rick Dinger, president of the Insurance Agents of Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena said, “The Los Angeles Make-A-Wish Foundation does an amazing job helping young people that are going tough times have experiences they will never forget. Our local insurance agents and staff are proud to partner with such a great organization.”
