The Lanterman Historical Museum Foundation will host its annual holiday open house at the Lanterman House & Visitor Center on Sunday, Dec. 15. The free, family-friendly event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to docent-led tours of the landmark Lanterman House, activities will include a free craft, a gingerbread house-making contest (open to all ages and skill levels) and caroling with the La Cañada High School Choral Singers. Light refreshments will be served.
The 1915 Lanterman House will be festively decorated for the season. The Christmas tree on display in the ballroom has been decorated with custom gingerbread-inspired ornaments created by members of the community. Visitors will be able to decorate their own ornaments to take home with the assistance of local Girl Scout Troop 9471. Visitors can also enjoy mini exhibits tracing the history of gingerbread and Lanterman family holiday traditions.
The gingerbread house-making contest at the Lanterman House is sponsored by Jane’s Cakes & Chocolate Supply of La Cañada Flintridge.
The Lanterman House is located at 4420 Encinas Drive in La Cañada Flintridge.
