Elizabeth Charky, a senior at Connecticut College and a resident of Montrose, took part in “Kinetic Conundrums,” the Dance Club’s fall performance held Nov. 1-3 at the Martha Myers Dance Studio at Connecticut College.

The concert featured works choreographed by students and student light designs. Students danced to music by Billie Holiday, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Barbara Streisand, and other greats.

Charky danced in “El Dia Tres, con los Cigarros,” “From Beneath” and “Promptly Waiting.”

Charky, a 2009 graduate of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, is the daughter of John and Angie Charky of Montrose.

Spencer Dryden of Glendale, and Weston Doty and Caroline Artime of La Cañada have been named to the dean’s list at the Savannah College of Art and Design for the fall quarter 2012. Full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.5 or above for the quarter receive recognition on the dean’s list.

The Savannah College of Art and Design is a private, nonprofit, accredited institution conferring bachelor’s and master’s degrees at distinctive locations and online to prepare talented students for professional careers.

Sarah Lim of La Crescenta and Anna Tichon of La Cañada were among 1,306 students named to Biola University’s spring 2012 dean’s list for academic excellence.

Biola students are placed on the dean’s list to honor those with a grade point average of 3.6 or higher while enrolled in 12 of more credit units and whose cumulative grade point average is at least a 3.2. This past spring, 33% of Biola students achieved this academic goal.

Biola University is a private Christian university located in Southern California on the border of Los Angeles and Orange counties in the city of La Mirada.

The California Assn. of Realtors at a meeting of the Pasadena Foothill Assn. of Realtors honored long time La Crescenta resident Kenneth A. Kneale Sr. as an honorary Member-for-Life.

Kneale has been a real estate professional for over 50 years and is a specialist in corporate consulting, brokerage and expert witnessing. He has been active in industry and civic activities during his tenure in the real estate profession.

Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center announced Jack Ivie as the hospital’s new president. Ivie returns to Glendale Memorial having served as the hospital’s assistant executive director and vice president of Hospital Operations from 1980-1992.
