Charlotte Menefee, former co-owner of Bow Tie Cleaners in La Cañada Flintridge, celebrated her 106th birthday (yes, you read that correctly) at the San Pedro home of her son Quentin Pizzini and daughter-in-law Helene. Charlotte and her late husband Jerry “Shorty” Menifee owned the Foothill Boulevard establishment from the time of their marriage in 1978 until his retirement in 1995. After his death, Charlotte lived in La Cañada until 2002 when she moved to San Pedro. She lived independently until her 104th birthday when she settled at the retirement community of Harbor Terrace.

Charlotte was happy to see many of her friends, including Alice Marso of La Crescenta, at the party. Alice summed up the feelings of her devoted family and friends: “She is one in a million!”
