Flu vaccinations offered at VHH

Verdugo Hills Hospital (VHH) recently offered free H1N1 flu vaccinations to its employee and medical staff families. More than 850 doses of the vaccine have been administered at VHH. The hospital has also offered the vaccine to its staff members.

“The hospital was fortunate to be able to provide H1N1 vaccine to employees, volunteers and their family members who meet criteria as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” said Linda Greenwood, RN, VHH’s infection control practitioner. Employee and medical staff families who met the following criteria established by the CDC were eligible for the vaccine: pregnant women; those caring for infants under six months; those age six months to 24 years of age; those 25 to 64 years of age with health conditions associated with high-risk complications from influenza; health care workers and emergency personnel.
