The Republican Club of the Foothills (RCF) filled the La Cañada home of Paul and Karen Hackett for a festive Christmas party. Over 120 members of the newly merged Republican Clubs of RCF and La Cañada Republican Club enjoyed the warm fellowship and gifting of toys to the Glendale Salvation Army.
Many candidates attended, including Pete Petersen, candidate for California Secretary of State, John Morris, candidate for L.A. County Assessor and Donna Hollingsworth Armstrong, candidate for LA Superior Court Judge.
Mark Vafiades, chairman of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County (RPLAC), attended with Mike Alexander, president and co-founder of TEAPAC in Pasadena. Linette Choi was also in attendance on behalf of the National Republican Club.
Four elected officials of the 43rd Assembly Committee attended: Mark Vafiades, Mell Flynn, Lenore Solis and Bill Saracino. Also attending was Kathy Rust, a 13-year veteran of the White House who worked under three presidents, Reagan and both Bushes.
The packed living room was filled with guests for the invocation led by Barbara Lesure from Gov. Brown’s prayer team; Pete Peterson led the flag salute.
Phil Downs, president of RCF, praised the guests for their thoughtful gifts of toys for the Glendale Salvation Army toy drive. Food was served by the holiday elves of Panda Express.
The CVHS Charismatics filled the spacious home with Christmas carols while the Hacketts gave tours of their historical 1920 Spanish-style home.
