Earlier this month, the Pasadena-Foothills REALTORS® hosted its 115th annual inaugural and awards virtual ceremony at the NOOR. The celebration, themed Growing Together, honored the local REALTOR® community, while installing the 2022 officers and directors.
During the virtual ceremony, PFAR honored incoming 2022 President Sarah Moore, a second-generation REALTOR® and Pasadena native. A graduate from California State University, Northridge with a degree in business and emphasis in real estate, Moore received scholarships from the San Fernando Board of Realtors, Land Use Institute, as well as the Appraisal Institute. After working briefly in the mortgage industry, Moore changed paths and decided to dedicate her time to raising her two daughters.
During her hiatus from real estate Moore discovered her talent for pottery becoming a nationally recognized potter in the Arts and Crafts style. Her successful pottery business Sassafrass Pottery was heavily inspired by her childhood growing up on the edge of the Arroyo Seco and served as a natural transition back to real estate.
Hosted by 2018 REALTOR® of the Year and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ Matt McIntyre along with PFAR Past President Emilie Broughton (Dilbeck Real Estate), PFAR recognized the work of the REALTOR® community, kicking off the show with a donation to Door of Hope; a non-profit centered on empowering families facing homelessness through holistic programs.
Megan Katerjian, executive director of Door of Hope, delivered the inspiration message and PUSD’s Blair Viking’s String Quartet served as the musical act for the afternoon.
The 2022 officers and directors installed were Kay Tolentino (TradeMark Real Estate) as president-elect; Secretary Lynnette West-Cater (Westlyn Realtors), Treasurer Jon Butler (Douglas Elliman Real Estate), Multiple Listing Director Eddie Ramirez (DPP), along with newly added directors Sid Karsh (Sid Karsh Real Estate), Lee Cuellar (Keller Williams Realty), Adam Bray-Ali (Coldwell Banker) and Lauren Kinkade-Wong (Douglas Elliman Real Estate). In addition, affiliate director Nathan Stark (Chicago Title) and now Immediate Past President Barry Storch (Town Square Real Estate).
Retired board members honored were Hazel Perera (Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices), Joyce Kristensson (Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices), Martin Mesa (Rate One Financial), Megan Spargo-Ferrell (COMPASS), and Neha Jespersen (DPP).
Awards were also presented to several individuals for outstanding service as were recognition given for milestone years of service.
