New Chief of Staff at Dignity Health – Glendale Memorial Hospital

Brigeli Westerband, MD, FACEP, Emergency Medicine, is the newly elected chief of staff of Dignity Health – Glendale Memorial Hospital.

As chief of staff, Dr. Westerband began a two-year term on Jan. 1. In her role, she is charged with enforcing the medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, and will keep the medical staff up-to-date on changes at the nonprofit, acute care hospital.

“I look forward to working closely with Glendale Memorial Hospital’s exceptional medical staff, each of whom is committed to providing compassionate and safe care while upholding our reputation for quality,” said Dr. Westerband.

Board certified in both emergency and internal medicine, Dr. Westerband ran her private practice before joining Glendale Memorial Hospital’s medical staff 20 years ago. She’s served as medical director for both FirstMed Ambulance and AmbuLife Transport, and has been Glendale Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department medical director since 2005.

Dr. Westerband belongs to several professional societies; she is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians; a member of the American Association of Physician Specialists, and an examiner of the Oral Board of Emergency Medicine.
