Crescenta Valley Hometown Champions

The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce would like to thank everyone who attended our 93rd Installation Luncheon.

It appropriately began with our flag salute, led by Dr. Cynthia Livingston, the past principal of Rosemont Middle School. Next, Reverend Beverly Craig of the Center for Spiritual Living delivered a beautiful invocation. Then, our president of the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce, Kaipo Chock, recognized our outgoing director James Pak. Our president thanked him for his distinguished service to the community as a director of the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce and for sponsoring and championing the annual Hometown Country Fair into an event that everyone can come to and enjoy with their families.

The second half of the luncheon, with Mary Pinola at the helm, demonstrated that this was no ordinary installation. While Mary was unable to get Judge Judy to participate in this feature, she did get Eleanor Wacker to represent. “Judge Wacker” stepped up to the podium, wearing a black robe, and commenced the distribution of the Mary Pinola/Crescenta Valley Chamber Educational Endowment Funds. The nine recipients were announced one at a time and underwent the scrutiny of Judge Eleanor Wacker prior to receiving their grants. Thankfully, it was determined through this courtroom evaluation that all the recipients were indeed worthy of receiving their grants.

Thank you to everyone for your participation and attendance. You are all champions of the Crescenta Valley community.

It seems only appropriate to follow this with an announcement of our upcoming pre-smart mixer! This fun-filled event will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is hosted by Bob Smith Toyota & Scion here in La Crescenta.

Hope to see everyone there to help kick off this year’s Smart-a-Thon. Proceeds from the Smart-a-Thon support the Mary Pinola/Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce Education Fund.
