Three local businesses will be celebrating their grand openings in February. Harvest Juice Co. in Montrose, The Lady Nails Beauty Spa in La Crescenta and Back Office People in La Crescenta have all recently joined or rejoined the CV Chamber and will celebrate their grand openings with ribbon cuttings. Community members are welcome to attend. See the dates and times below.

Harvest Juice Co. co-owners Teresa Geestman and boyfriend Numa Jalali are natives of the foothill community. Geestman attended La Crescenta schools from elementary to high school and Jalali did the same in La Cañada. When they saw a storefront open up on Ocean View Boulevard, they jumped at the opportunity to start the business of their dreams here in their hometown.

Jalali, an ex-pro snowboarder, blew out his knee five years ago. As part of his healing, he turned to healthy living and a vegan diet.

“So five years ago,” Geestman chuckles, “I also became a healthy eater.”

The couple turned their know-how into the Harvest Juice Co. Each organic, cold-pressed juice is made fresh-to-order. Juice blends and smoothies sport names like Liquid Gold (turmeric, apple, pineapple, mint, ginger and cayenne) and Endless Summer (mango, ginger, goji berry, orange, dates, almond milk and cranberries).

Harvest Juice Co. will celebrate its grand opening on Monday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m.  The address is 3807 Ocean View Blvd. in Montrose. Their regular business hours will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday  9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Stop by for a healthy pick-me-up anytime.

On Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 10:30 a.m., The Lady Nails Beauty Spa will celebrate its official grand opening with a ribbon cutting. The Lady Nails Beauty Spa, a manicure/pedicure salon at 3231 Foothill Blvd. #104, has been open in La Crescenta since December but it already has an avid Yelp following. Customers love the nail technicians’ artistry and the durability of their work. They also rave about the cleanliness of the salon, something co-owners Sea Ou and Emily Lee take pride in.

Services at Lady Nails include acrylic nails, gel manicures, waxing, threading and more. Nail care services range from the Classic Combo (exfoliation foot scrub, lotion oil massage, hot towel wrap and polish) to the 5-Luxury Natural Combo (with 21-herb mineral baths, baobab body butter and three more luxuries!). Why not stop by the ribbon cutting ceremony and make an appointment for a treatment in time for Valentine’s Day? It’s open from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Finally, Back Office People will make its grand opening official on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. As certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors, Back Office People has been serving the foothill area for years by helping businesses get control of their QuickBooks accounting systems. This is the first time it will enjoy the benefits of a brick-and-mortar office space. It also offers payroll, bookkeeping and office management services. Mindy Morrison, owner of Back Office People, will be glad to assist small business owners with their accounting and office needs. You can meet her at the ribbon cutting on Feb. 18 at 2953 Honolulu Ave., Suite 4 in La Crescenta.
