A Fond Farewell and an Exciting New Chapter for the MVCC
After five incredible years serving as the executive director of the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce, I am stepping down from my role. This journey has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, allowing me to connect deeply with our business members and the wonderful Montrose community. It has been an honor to support our local businesses, organize meaningful events and contribute to the growth and vibrancy of our beloved town.
While this is a bittersweet transition, I am thrilled to announce that Molly Burke, our membership administrator, will be stepping into the role of executive director. Molly has been a dedicated part of the Chamber team and brings a deep passion for Montrose and its businesses. She shared her excitement about this new opportunity:
“I am thrilled to step into the role of executive director of the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce! Having grown up in this community, I’ve always been inspired by what makes it unique. My experience as membership administrator and working on community events has deepened my love for Montrose and fueled my passion for supporting our local businesses and culture. Working alongside our members and the community is incredibly meaningful to me and I’m excited to help continue growing and strengthening all that makes Montrose so special. Thank you for your support and I look forward to the exciting work ahead!”
Molly’s dedication and enthusiasm make her the perfect leader for this next chapter of the MVCC. I have no doubt she will continue to build on the strong foundation we’ve worked so hard to establish.
Standing Together in Challenging Times
As I reflect on my time with the Chamber, I am reminded of the resilience and generosity of this community – something we’ve seen once again in the wake of the recent California wildfires. These devastating fires have affected many families and businesses, but Montrose has come together to support those in need.
One of our valued Chamber members, YMCA of the Foothills, hosted an incredible LA Fire Relief Community Event last weekend, providing much-needed support to 800 families impacted by the Eaton Fire. We are deeply grateful for their leadership and the 100-plus volunteers who helped make the event a success.
Additionally, our Chamber members stepped up in inspiring ways:
- Babaians Law Firm sponsored the food, ensuring families and volunteers were well-fed with delicious pizza from Flintridge Pizza Kitchen, a local business and fellow Chamber member that was also impacted by the fires.
- Radar Promotions provided event shirts, bringing volunteers together in a unified show of support for those in need.
This event was a powerful reflection of what makes Montrose so special – neighbors helping neighbors and businesses coming together to uplift the community. If you or someone you know has been affected by the fires, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to help in any way we can.
A Heartfelt Thank You
As I pass the torch to Molly, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our business members, volunteers and the entire Montrose community. Your support, dedication and unwavering commitment to this town have made my time with the MVCC truly unforgettable.
I look forward to seeing all the amazing things Molly and the Chamber will accomplish in the years ahead. Thank you for an incredible five years – I will always cherish my time with the MVCC and the wonderful people who make Montrose the vibrant and welcoming place it is.
