The ‘Fair’ Folks in our Community

A man not only needs to know how to fish, he needs to have the freedom to do it and a place to do it. That’s where community comes in. We have to help each other. ~ Bill Ayres

The Hometown Country Fair is coming to town! We have put together plans for an exciting fair taking place on April 6. Do you have something to promote or sell? We welcome vendors, profit and non-profit. Have a hot rod or collectible car? Display it at the car show. Need service hours? We are looking for volunteers to help during the fair.  Please call for information about how you can be involved with the upcoming fair. Our Fair is the ultimate family-friendly event. We hope you mark your calendars for April 6 and join this community-wide event.

One business that knows the community is one that has probably photographed you or someone in your family over the years. Bronson Photography has been a part of our community for 45 years. They create family and senior high school portraits, commercial and wedding photographs, and have been the official photographer for CVHS senior portraits and proms for many years. You can find recent CVHS photos at bronsonstudio.com/cvhs. They photographed Elizabeth Taylor’s 60th birthday party at Disneyland and famous people from Ronald Reagan to Hugh Hefner and many more over the years. If you enjoy photos as art, you might want to browse through the online gallery of Bob Bronson’s “travel shots” at bronsonstudio.com/travel.

Bronson Photography has recently been in the news due to a fire, which luckily caused no damage to anything inside the studio. They hold much of the photographic history of the Crescenta Valley and also of Glendale. In 2004, they bought out Dunlap-Turney of Glendale, which had been in business since about 1946. So they not only house their old negatives, but also those from Dunlap-Turney. Bronson has wonderful people, great photographers who make you feel comfortable and a studio with a ton of beautiful sets. They can do groups of up to 80 in their studio. They can also photograph cars inside the studio as they have a roll-up door in the back. Bob says, “Studio photographs are better because the lighting allows a bigger depth of field.”

Bronson Photography has a special offer right now for a family portrait and 11×14 photo for $190. They also have a special running now for this year’s graduating seniors. A “cap & gown” sitting with one 5×7 and four wallets for $68. Visit their website BronsonStudio.com, call (818) 249-5864, or visit their studio at 2060 Montrose Ave., Montrose. They are open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and are closed Sundays and Mondays.

Thank you to Bronson Photography and all our members that work together to make this community better.
