Chamber Fun

It was a great night in the Crescenta Valley at last Saturday’s bingo game. Close to 200 people filled the community room at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and 16 lucky winners walked away with cold, hard cash. We hope to do another game in about six months. In the meantime, we know the CVHS AFJROTC is hosting bingo at the American Legion Hall on Saturday, March 11 at 6 p.m.

It’s that time of year when we start to pull together the 2017-2018 Best Business Directory. Inside this glossy, durable booklet, we list all of the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce members as well as contact information for important local agencies, organizations and individuals. Our members are consistently people who strive to make the Crescenta Valley a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. They support community-minded activities and offer valuable goods and services with integrity and responsibility. When this directory shows up on your doorstep in a few months, please keep it in a handy place. Patronizing these companies supports your town. If you’d like a copy of the current 2015-2016 directory, just stop by the office.

Personally, I use the directory almost every day. It sits right next to my office desk and when residents call with questions regarding community services, elected officials or business referrals, I have the information at my fingertips.

The new directory will be hand-delivered to over 10,000 homes and businesses in the Crescenta Valley. If you would like to have your business listed, you simply need to join the Chamber. It’s free with your membership, as is an online listing on our website directory (logo included). At $115 per year for a company of one to five employees (plus a $25 enrollment fee), it’s one of the best advertising values around.  Membership applications are available online at www.crescentavalleychamber.org.

The one, the only Smart-a-Thon! This year’s test is sure to have questions that will amuse you, confuse you and definitely illuminate you! It’s all for a good cause – the Mary Pinola/CV Chamber Education Fund – so get your team together soon. Or let us put you on a team. Forty dollars per person includes lunch or $200 sponsors a table of four. It’s all happening on Wednesday, March 15 at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Once again, call the office to register.
