Valentine Fun in Montrose! (Part 2)

Mary Dawson

As you leisurely stroll through the shopping park, there are several stores that make you feel as if you have had a visit with Cupid himself. Upon entering you are embraced in the Valentine spirit of red, white, pink hearts, and things that say, “I love you.” These are happy stores to visit in our sunny town. Let’s start with Paper Rabbit where they will personalize your Valentine gift with their dotted doodles. Popular now are the clear heart boxes and frames that say “Happy Valentine’s Day 2011” and feature their “Love to Love You” design. They are so cute and a Montrose original.

Montrose Rose Gifts is the place to go for Valentine-themed home decor.

Mountain Rose Gifts specializes in seasonal home décor, and Valentine’s is one of their favorite seasons. Heart-shaped runners and table toppers are selling briskly along with whimsical figurines and candy cups. This stop is sure to bring a smile, especially when you walk out with your purchase wrapped in one of their cranberry and white gift bags.

Did you know that Paradis ice cream is creating a special flavor just for Valentine’s? It’s called “Champagne Strawberry Sorbet.” Sounds like a winner to me. I recommend getting two scoops, one of the new and one of their favorites, like Ferrero Rocher, Stracciatella (my personal favorite), or Chocolate Sorbet. Once again, only in Montrose!

Eye Candy has a red and white store – the colors of the season. They are becoming known for their white branch tree in the window that is currently decorated in a tasteful Valentine theme. For Valentine’s they are giving away a scrub sample with every service. This is a brand new, “state-of-the-art”, very well done, beauty bar.

Why just get a card when you can read a whole book? Once Upon A Time has lots of Valentine themed books all grouped together in a cheery display. Their Valentine-themed window will entice you to come in and browse, and support your local bookstore.

To further enhance your Valentine enjoyment I will be posting a pic a day of Montrose Valentine treats on our Facebook page. Do become a fan. I also invite you to check out our blog. I will show you pics of what I have been writing about. It’s easy. Just go to www.shopmontrose.com and click on the “BLOG” button. I hope you are feeling the love. See you next week and thank you for shopping the small stores of Montrose!
