Meet the Board Part II
A few weeks ago we introduced you to two new additions to the CV Chamber of Commerce board. Today you’ll hear about a few more. These men and women volunteer their time and expertise to strengthen our community and to build connectedness between local organizations, large and small.
Dwight Sityar is affectionately known as the Chamber’s “classic car guy.” He was born and raised in the Philippines, attended college there and joined the family trucking and brokerage corporation. He married in the early 1970s and moved to Hawaii with his wife and daughter. Finally, they made their way to California, settling in La Crescenta in 1982, and raised a family of three children and four grandchildren.
Since boyhood, Dwight’s hobby has been automobiles and racing. Professionally, Dwight moved up the “ladder of car care,” starting as a mechanic, becoming a manager and finally owning his own shop. He retired from active business in 2001 and became a consultant. Never abandoning his love of cars, he is now an avid collector. Dwight helped to organize a car club in the foothills called Early Rodders, a group that has worked with the CV Chamber for many years. He now takes his commitment to cars and community one step further by joining the CV Chamber Board of Directors.
Also new to the Chamber board is Jeero Habeshian. Jeero has been a resident of the Crescenta Valley since 1994. He immigrated to the U.S. with his family at the tender age of 8. He grew up in Los Feliz, attended local private schools then studied business administration at L.A. Valley College and the University of Phoenix. Jeero became a real estate agent at 21 and has over 32 years of service, sales and management experience. He is currently a sales manager at Dilbeck Real Estate, he serves as a director on the Glendale Association of REALTORS, and is past president of the Women’s Council of REALTORS Verdugo Hills Chapter. Jeero Habeshian has been named CV Weekly’s Finest Real Estate Agent for 2013 and Los Angeles Times Magazine’s 5-Star Professional in 2014 and 2015.
In his spare time, Jeero enjoys family time with his wife and son, a graduate of St. Francis High School who currently attends Cal State Northridge. He is also an accomplished musician, playing drums, percussion, bass guitar and singing. He is a fan of basketball, soccer, biking, travel, history, geography, cooking and, of course, his community, the Crescenta Valley.
Many of you already know our newly elected president, Aram Ordubegian. His prior years on the Chamber board and his professional experience make him an excellent choice for president. Aram is a partner at the national law firm of Arent Fox, LLP, in the Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Group. Along with insolvency matters, Aram advises businesses in connection with debt restructuring, securitization, acquisitions, divestures and other matters. Aram has consistently been recognized in the Southern California edition of “Super Lawyers” magazine in bankruptcy and restructuring since 2005. He was also recognized by Best Lawyers in America in 2013 and 2014.
Aram and his family are residents of La Crescenta. He attended Hoover High School, where he met his wife Monica. They have two children attending Mountain Avenue Elementary. When he finds the time, Aram enjoys hiking and mountain biking.
Please join me in welcoming Aram Ordubegian, Jeero Habeshian and Dwight Sityar.
