101 Years of Fun with Cake & Dancing in the Streets!
We’re going to party like its 1999! Wait, we’ve already done that. Fast forward to this Sunday in the Montrose Shopping Park where we will be celebrating “101 Years Of Fun” Montrose style. We know how to throw a party the whole family will enjoy. The center of the action will be at Honolulu Avenue and Ocean View Boulevard where Don Ross and the Stinky Felix Band will be performing music from the ’50s to the ’80s that will have you dancing in the streets. There will also be a sidewalk sale as many of our stores will be open and the Harvest Market will be running through 4 p.m.
Oh, did I mention there will be cake? Montrose Bakery & Café has been appointed to design a spectacular cake for us that will serve 1,000. It’s going to be awesome with a strawberry mousse filling and red, white and blue roses. The birthday ceremony starts at 2 p.m. when we will be presenting Founder’s Day Awards. Afterwards, Robin Goldsworthy, Mary O’Keefe and I, with help from Prom Plus Kids, will team up to cut and serve the cake. I can’t wait! It’s going to be fun!
Did you know today is “Love Your Pet Day?” The Montrose Shopping Park is a dog friendly town and we love your pets! Pictured here is Marley, a 4-year-old Pomeranian that “works” at Total Graphics (2435 Honolulu Ave.) where they specialize in signs, banners, T-shirts, and printing. Owners Serge and Jola are lovely people who produce many of our banners here in town, with Marley’s help of course. Thanks for reading! See you Sunday!. www.shopmontrose.com
