B-I-N-G-O
Hello, CV Weekly readers! I hope you are all able to stay warm and relatively dry.
Before we go any further, I wanted to let you all know that the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce will be holding its annual bingo game on Saturday, Feb. 23 at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. with food and beverage available and the first game is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. In addition to tickets, which can be purchased in the Chamber office at 3131 Foothill ‘D,’ we also have sponsorship opportunities still available. Tickets are $20 each and include four cards for each of 10 games and one dauber, which is a great deal because each game will pay out $100 cash!
Every March, the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Mary Pinola Foundation hold their annual Smart-A-Thon to raise money for their education fund! This year’s competition of brains and wits will be held on Wednesday, March 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital once again will be the gracious host. We still have tables available to sponsor and plenty of open spots to be placed on a team for interested individual players. If you have any questions, please give us a call in the Chamber office (818) 248-4957 or stop by the office to pick up your entry form today.
Finally, I would like to take a moment to introduce our newest business member Nona Janszyan-Ordubegian of Serene Hospice Care, Inc. Nona has a background as a mental health care professional, so she understands the true meaning of caregiving and all that is involved. At Serene, they understand that some people have no one left and need emotional support or, at the very least, need someone to talk to. Nona prides herself on having a team of professionals happy to provide that. In an effort to set herself and Serene apart from the pack, Nona made sure to hire nurses who live in the La Crescenta area so it is quicker and easier for them to spend more time with their patients. The strongest example of what Serene represents can be found in one recent story.
Serene’s team stepped in when funds for a patient were slow coming and, without a second thought, bought groceries for this family. Nona and Serene Hospice have assembled a team of good local people doing good for the community. Learn more by calling (818) 330-7779.
