Study Ranks Hospital in Top 1% in the Nation for 5 years in a row.
Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center announced that its superior clinical quality has again placed it among an elite group of U.S. hospitals: HealthGrades America’s 50 Best Hospitals. Each year, only 50 of America’s 5,000 hospitals are recognized with this prestigious distinction. This is the fifth year in a row that Glendale Memorial has ranked among the top 1% of all hospitals in the United States and it is one of only two organizations in California to be recognized with this honor. This recognition demonstrates Glendale Memorial’s consistent quality superiority and a culture that strives for the very best care for its patients each and every day.
To be recognized, a hospital must have had superior patient outcomes consistently year over year. HealthGrades determines the recipients of the top 1% ranking by reviewing risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates over a period of 11 years. If across all 26 different procedures and diagnoses combined a hospital performs statistically better than expected it is able to rank among the top 5% in the nation for patient quality. If a hospital can perform this strongly for a minimum of at least six years in a row a hospital will be eligible. However, only the strongest 50 performers can be named and Glendale Memorial is proud to share this award with its community.
