Ribbon Cuttings in Montrose
It is great to see so many new businesses in Montrose. It is a positive sign for the community that delivers an immediate return. In the next few weeks, we will be hosting three ribbon cuttings in Montrose and we would love to have you join us as we welcome these new businesses to the community.
Our first ribbon cutting is at CrossFit Montrose located at 3601 Ocean View Blvd. in one of the stores just below the Coffee Bean. CrossFit Montrose has been open for about a month and is something everyone can do, according to owners Matt and Ben Magnone.
“The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. The CrossFit routines used are the same ones for elderly individuals with heart disease and the Olympic athlete training for the moment of his life. Our triathlon athletes, skiers, mountain bike riders, weekend warriors and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen. Our specialty is not specializing. The goal is to keep the body in a state of constantly varied movement, so that it cannot adapt to any one thing and therefore it will never plateau. The needs of Olympic athletes and grandparents differ by degree of difficulty not by kind of activity,” said the pair.
Ben and Matt both love the community aspect of group fitness training and the camaraderie that is created as everyone works together to reach their own individual goals. “Before I was your ‘classic’ gym member who always had a membership but never enjoyed going. It always seemed monotonous and boring to me. CrossFit has become a passion for Ben and I and we are so excited to open CrossFit Montrose,” Ben added. “It is a dream come true to be opening CrossFit Montrose.”
Ben and Matt also believe nutrition is the key to every aspect of your life and they have made it an integral part of the CrossFit program in Montrose. According to Matt, “Nutrition affects your energy levels, your recovery ability, and your overall defense against disease. Remember, food really does matter. Once you start to care about what you put into your body, you’ll be surprised at how much better you feel! If you’re eating as clean as possible, you don’t even need to worry about the quantity.”
If you are interested in trying the program, you will be glad to know that your first class is free. For more information about CrossFit Montrose, log onto www.cfmontrose.com.
