Say Hello to Mom & Pop!

We are living the American Dream, small storeowners who have the joy of working together with our spouses just as in times gone by. With “National Mom & Pop Business Owners Day” coming up this Saturday, March 29, it’s a perfect time to appreciate couples doing just that right here in Montrose! It’s a calling, really, born out of a love for people and a chance to express unique creativity in a way others will enjoy. Jack and Christine Aroyan, also parents, chose the Montrose Shopping Park because it is such a family friendly place. Their store Critters (2277 Honolulu Ave.) is chocked full of Easter surprises like these cuddly plush bunnies. They are such a nice couple, too!

Back in our fast-paced corporate days, Dale and I never imagined we would get to be “Mom & Pop.” Since he was a young boy he always was fascinated by gift stores, a love he inherited from his mom. We both love to shop and thoroughly enjoy all the gift shows. Mountain Rose Gifts (2321 1/2 Ocean View Blvd.) allows us to express our Paris fantasy and thrill of seasonal décor. Right now we are “all out Easter” with the latest gourmet bunnies, eggs and chicks. Fun!

Look up the word “entrepreneur” in the dictionary and Sebu & Maral’s picture comes up. What a busy and creative couple they are designing and manufacturing women’s fashion that they sell in their store, The Clothing Market (2260 Honolulu Ave.). This is the place to go for that original, well -priced Easter dress in the latest colors and style. Mom & Pop live and work at Executive Jewelers, Honolulu Wood & Things, and Total Graphics, too! Stop by and say “Hi!” www.shopmontrose.com
