New Business Welcomed in Montrose and La Cañada

Change and new beginnings have come to the area again. Walk this Way on Honolulu Avenue has come under new ownership. Long time owner Julie Kumjian sold her store to one of her favorite clients, Edna Baghoumian. Walk this Way calls itself, “A neighborhood shoe store.” They have been in business for 24 years and have worked hard to build a reputation for being number one in customer care. They offer a wide selection of the finest name brand quality shoes that are fashionable, chic, durable, and most importantly, comfortable. Walk this Way is located at 2253 Honolulu Ave. in Montrose. They invite you to come in and browse at your leisure. They have a very knowledgeable staff waiting to offer their expertise in helping you find the perfect shoe.

Don’t forget! The Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce’s 16th annual golf classic and scholarship fundraiser is on Thursday, May 3 at Verdugo Hills Golf Course! This is going to be a great event that you do not want to miss! Giuseppe’s Pizzeria, Sake Sushi, Three Drunken Goats and All in 7 Stop Pizza will provide the food and is included free with your entry! Refreshments are provided throughout the course! Our golf tournament begins with a putting challenge at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 a.m. and our shotgun start at noon. Remember, this is our annual scholarship fundraiser that provides scholarships to local graduating seniors from Crescenta Valley and Clark Magnet high schools. 12th Annual Foothills Relay For Life on May 12 and May 13 at Clark Magnet High School, 4747 New York Ave., La Crescenta.

Artwalk on Saturday, May 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue. Artists will be on hand to display their work and music will be filling the air.

Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 28 at 8 a.m. at the Vietnam War Memorial on the northwest corner of Honolulu and Ocean View.
