May 1, Taste of Montrose & Double the Fun!

Bring the kids and bring the “Kritters” for a fun day in the Montrose Shopping Park on Sunday, May 1.

This Sunday, May 1, is a big day in town. The Montrose Shopping Park is hosting five different events! Last week I shared about Kids ‘N Kritters, Wags & Whiskers, the Harvest Market, and the Thieves Market. This week it’s all about the food. The annual Taste Of Montrose event will be going on from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For $20 you can purchase a ticket to sample food from 25 different Montrose restaurants!

I spoke with some of the restaurants in the shopping park to find out what they were doing and to whet your appetite. Zeke’s will be offering their famous smoked baby back ribs, coleslaw, and baked beans. That’s worth the price of admission right there!

Pepe’s manager Rolando Casas said they will be setting up three tables inside the restaurant with chips & salsa, chimichangas, beef taquitos, and chicken flautas.

The Wacky Wok will be sampling two of their best sellers, Wacky Wok beef and orange chicken. If you are in the mood for Italian, Anthony, of the new Giuseppe’s will be featuring their delicious pizza, salad, and penne pasta.

For dessert hop on down to the Slender Sweet Shoppe for baby ice cream cones and freshly baked, sugar free, chocolate chip cookies. Other participating restaurants in the Shopping Park include Three Drunken Goats, Pasta Preziosa Café, Paradis, Ocean View Bistro, Montrose Candy Co., Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and Big Mama’s & Papa’s. If that’s not enough there are many other nearby restaurants that will be setting up booths on Honolulu Avenue.

Proceeds from the Taste of Montrose go to CVHS Prom Plus that provides safe after prom events for CVHS seniors and their guests. You can purchase tickets for Taste of Montrose at Merle Norman or Paradis. You can also purchase them the day of the event at the Prom Plus booth.

So do plan to join us and ring in May with a “vacation” day in the Montrose Shopping Park.
