Mixing It Up at the CV Chamber
On April 16, the chamber helped St. Luke’s of the Mountains celebrate its 100th anniversary with a mixer at St. Luke’s! Delicious food was prepared by Julie Dowse and chamber board member Mary O’Keefe, there were adult beverages (and non-adult beverages), some great prizes and (of course) great mixing. We had a chance to meet some business professionals in the area and we’re glad they marked their calendars to be part of the mixer – and part of the chamber.
We are pleased to welcome some new members: Carrie Grochow of Engel & Voelkers Real Estate and Marcelo Poisl of New York Life Insurance. These folks know the value of belonging to the chamber of commerce, especially to know the pulse of the community. We’re glad to be here for them and the rest of our members. The question is: are you a CV Chamber member?
Looking ahead, the CV Chamber and Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber are joining to host a mixer to celebrate the 55th anniversary of J’s Maids & Maintenance. Chris Waldheim at J’s for decades has been serving the community in a variety of capacities, whether through his participation in the Montrose Oktoberfest, on the boards of the Mary Pinola Education Fund and CV Fireworks Association, cleaning up during and after Prom Plus or supporting local businesses. We’re very lucky to call him a friend and the chambers are excited to have this mixer celebrating this special anniversary. More details will be coming; keep your eyes open.
In addition to having some great mixers and getting to know our members, the CV Chamber is planning our biggest event: the Hometown Country Fair! It takes place on June 22 at Crescenta Valley Park, 3901 Dunsmore Ave. It promises to be full of all of the fun things our friends and neighbors have come to expect from the Hometown Country Fair: a variety of vendors, inflatables, food trucks, entertainment, the dog parade and more. This year is a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Ford Mustang with a salute to fin cars from 1956-1962. This free event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is something you won’t want to miss so mark your calendars now!
If you are a Chamber member we are available to help your business plan a ribbon cutting, a grand re-opening of your business, or even help you organize promotional opportunities. For those of you who are not business or residential members there are numerous advantages of a CV Chamber of Commerce membership.
