2018 Scholarship Golf Tournament & Charity Event

Winter rains have left Scholl Canyon Golf Course looking lush and green. It’s the perfect time to strap on your clubs and head out for 18 holes. And what better way to do it than with friends while raising money for two worthy causes? Proceeds go toward scholarships for outstanding students in the Crescenta Valley and also to the Desi Geestman Foundation, improving the quality of life for children suffering from cancer and their families.

You can register as a solo golfer for $125 ($135 the day of the event) or pull a foursome together for only $110 each. You don’t need to know the names of all four golfers just yet – you can tell us the day of the tournament. Sign up at www.crescentavalleychamber.org/golf or call the office at (818) 248-4957.

This is a non-competitive tournament. All skill levels are welcome. The only goal is to have fun, take in the fresh air and enjoy the camaraderie of friends. Get there early to participate in the putting contest (7:30 a.m.). Shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m. when all the foursomes head out to different holes in their complimentary golf carts. By the way, if you step up to be the top sponsor ($1500), your business’s logo will be displayed on the dashboard of all the golf carts! There are other levels of sponsorship as well including tee sign sponsor for $150 and prize sponsor for our raffle. These are great ways to get your name and logo out into the golfing, philanthropic and business communities. The deadline to become a sponsor and be included in all our promotional materials is May 31. Call the office for more information.

After the game, golfers are treated to a freshly barbecued steak and salmon lunch from Gelsinger’s. After lunch we’ll hear from this year’s scholarship winners and then raffle off some great prizes. Two raffle tickets come with your supplementary prize package, available for purchase at the event ($20). The package also includes participation in the three hole-in-one contests, the closest-to-the-pin contest, two Mulligans, and entry into the putting contest.

So whether you’re a pro golfer or an amateur, we invite you to come out to Scholl Canyon on Friday, June 22. You can be back in the office by 2 p.m. …. or just start your weekend early!
