Established in 1953, Westminster Academy in Pasadena is a Christian day school offering admission for children in kindergarten through the eighth grade. The overall purpose of the school is to provide a means by which a child can grow emotionally, spiritually, and academically and become inspired to live the Christian life.
The school provides an atmosphere that not only builds academic skills but good character as well. The goal is for each student to learn the truths of the Bible, obtain proficiency in reading and writing, master mathematics, acquire the skills needed for higher learning, build lifelong friendships, and become productive young adults. The realization of this goal starts the first day of kindergarten and lasts a lifetime. In all areas, the school emphasizes the building of skills that young people will need to succeed. Each year, Westminster students’ SAT scores are well above the national averages.
Westminster Academy also has a successful junior high sports program. Last fall, for the second year in a row, the boys’ flag football team won the Foothill League championship. The girls’ basketball team placed first in their division, and the boys’ basketball team placed second in their division. Other sports offered include volleyball, softball, and baseball.
The majority of Westminster Academy’s faculty has been with the school in some capacity for over 10 years. They are currently accepting applications for admission in all grade levels.
