“What the heart can dream….the will can accomplish.”
CVHS 1990 class motto
A strong public school system is basic and vital to the health and growth of a community. Our schools have a rich heritage of educational progress and high academic standards, which is what attracts people to want to move to our valley. Businesses locate here to provide services and jobs and economic growth and sustainability. This is why a quality education is everyone’s business! Our chamber prides itself on being a partner with Glendale Unified School District, and many businesses work cohesively with our local schools to provide services, expertise or financial assistance. The Chamber’s fundraising activities enable us to raise money, which we in turn give back as scholarships to deserving local graduating seniors.
On Friday, June 27 we are hosting our Scholarship Golf Tournament at Scholl Canyon Golf Course. At this annual event, we will honor our four scholarship recipients: John Blood, Nick Castellana, Jesse Gabor and Molly Strawn. We are so proud of these students and we hope you will join us in congratulating them.
Beginning with a putting contest at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., our tournament fee includes 18 holes of golf and two person cart, a bucket of range balls, goody bag, refreshments on the course, plus a continental breakfast and a delicious steak and salmon lunch following trophy presentations! Available for purchase at the event is a putting contest, mulligans, raffle tickets, closest to pin and a hole-in-one contest where you can win a three-day Baja cruise courtesy of Montrose Travel! Single player entry fee is $125, and a team of four can play for $440.
There are also sponsorship opportunities available! We hope you will join the fun on June 27! Contact our office for further information or register online through our website.
If you joined us for our May mixer at J’s Maintenance last week, you know that it was truly a special evening under our Crescenta Valley sky! J’s celebrated 45 years in business surrounded by many family, friends and community members. The mixer was a joint effort with our friends over at the Montrose Chamber of Commerce, and we will be joining them again for next month’s business mixer at Montrose Travel.
Just in case you don’t have Hawaii in your summer travel plans, you can join us Wednesday, June 4 when Montrose Travel transforms its outdoor space on Honolulu Avenue into a festive luau, complete with Mai Tais, music and tasty kabobs! We look forward to mixing with you!
