It’s Paris on Ocean View!

This Paris thing … it started gradually and unintentionally when no one was looking. But now take a few steps north on Ocean View Boulevard at Honolulu Avenue. As you look around at the stores and their names you begin to get the Paris vibe. Let’s start with Gio’s Baguettes & More, which was birthed in Paris in the spring of 1997. As the owners enjoyed a baguette and latte in a sidewalk Paris café they began making plans to bring the experience home to Montrose. Thus Gio’s was born offering freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries with dough imported from France. This is the place to enjoy the outside patio with your cheese omelet croissant, fresh brewed Illy coffee, and fruit tart as you read your CV Weekly and take in the Montrose sights. At lunch order their house made soup of the day that comes with that freshly baked bread and treat yourself to a chocolate éclair. Gio’s has been such a hit and many locals are taking the time to proclaim it as their favorite place on Yelp. Seriously, Gio’s is a must try!

Directly across the street from Gio’s is Mountain Rose Gifts, thus named because it is what Montrose means in French. Their main specialty is Paris-inspired home décor and gifts! The Eiffel Tower can be found on everything from mugs to clocks with all of the latest offerings to make you feel like you are living in the French countryside. This photo features one of many artful displays showing how the whole Paris look comes together. A few steps down from Mountain Rose you’ll find J’Adore Boutique with a decidedly French name and approach to décor and fashion. Even the new dog groomers across the street are getting in on the action naming their new business Je T’adore Pet Salon. You know Fifi would be proud! Rounding out the mix is none other than Chateau Salon, a very successful hair and nail salon offering the latest trends. Paris on Ocean View is such a welcome and pleasant experience.
