Night blooming jasmine and geraniums abound as we head into summer in the Montrose Shopping Park. We have lots of festivities planned and invite you to visit often and meet your neighbors.

Here are some good reasons to mark your calendars. For those on Facebook, you will want to keep up with us on the Montrose Shopping Park page and share it with your friends.

Memorial Day Ceremony
Join us this Monday, May 27 at 8 a.m. at the Vietnam War Memorial at the corner of Honolulu Avenue and Ocean View Boulevard. This time to honor those who have given their lives in military service to our country is so meaningful. Join city officials, local dignitaries, Boy Scouts, neighbors and friends as we gather together to pay tribute. My heart is so touched by this every year as yours will be also.

30th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival
Saturday & Sunday, June 1 and June 2. This festival promises to be our best yet with over 300 artists, craftsmen, and vendors, featuring 50 brand new ones. Admission is free and includes live entertainment, international food court and shopping galore. Our one-of-a-kind stores and cafes   are geared up for this event, too, so you may want to spend the whole weekend!

Summer Sunday Harvest Market
This is peak Harvest Market time. To add a little newness, as of Sunday, June 9 we are moving the market to the entire 2300 block for the summer. This is the block with Paradis Ice Cream and the Montrose Bakery. This will give us more space to feature all of the fresh produce, which is in abundance, and crafters we are known for. Lots of good music, new additions to the Kids Zone, a hot barbecue vender, and something special for the vegetarians are all in the plan.

National Flag Week
Started right here in Montrose, National Flag Week is celebrated June 9 – June 15. Let’s go for a record and fly Old Glory all over town!

Summer is also prime patio and outdoor dining time! On that note, our newest restaurant, Casa Cordoba, has a lovely patio featuring little white lights, a waterfall and soothing Spanish guitar. They serve the food of Spain, fabulous sangria, and are now open for dinner. I might also suggest you give Montrose Wine & Kabob a try. You can enjoy healthy Mediterranean fare as you overlook the scenic mountains.

We have so much to offer here in Montrose. Thank you for supporting our small, but very special, businesses! www.shopmontrose.com
