No Banner? No Problem!
There seem to be a lot fewer banners strung up around La Crescenta lately. This is a good thing because their placement may be violating a local ordinance and can be an eyesore. But there are still ways to get the word out about your latest endeavors.
We send out a monthly newsletter and bi-weekly eBlast to nearly one thousand chamber members and residents. It lists all kinds of events going on in the Crescenta Valley and has become a trusted resource for things to do in our neighborhood (much like the Crescenta Valley Weekly!). As a member, you can promote events put on by your business or organization through our eBlasts and newsletters. Simply email a pdf of your flyer to our office at info@crescentavalleychamber.org. We’ll do our best to get the word out. If you’d like to sign up to receive our eBlasts, just drop me a line at the same address.
We also have a regularly updated calendar on our website. Just go to www.crescentavalleychamber.org, find Calendar and scroll down to Community Events. We want to be your source for all things Crescenta Valley so please check us out and let us know about your events.
If you don’t have a computer, you can still stay up-to-date by stopping in our office any day between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to check out our event wall. You’ll see flyers for things coming up in the next couple of weeks. We also have cards, pamphlets and coupons from our member businesses as well as local newspapers, community info and emergency response literature – all free. We’re at 3131 Foothill, Suite D, La Crescenta in the Palm Plaza.
Speaking of things coming up in the next few weeks:
Next Monday, there will be a special Memorial Day Remembrance at Two Strike Park. Starting at 8 a.m., the ceremony will feature keynote speaker Major General (Ret.) Mark MacCarley. FYI, the CV Chamber office will be closed in honor of the holiday.
Coming up on June 3, the Glendale Police Dept. opens its facilities for the all to see. Learn about crime scene/DNA investigation and the SWAT team, see a K-9 demo, check out the police helicopter on display and see much more. It’s free and includes parking and lunch. 131 N. Isabel in Glendale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The following Saturday, do something completely different at the Center for Spiritual Living’s 2017 Spring Metaphysical and Artisan Faire. Never been to their beautiful property in the foothills? Come for the mountains, stay for the healing crystals. 4845 Dunsmore Ave. in La Crescenta, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
That night, try your luck at the Casino Carnivale at the La Crescenta Woman’s Club. Gaming tables, including blackjack, craps and roulette, live entertainment, auctions and a canapé buffet are sure to keep you busy all night long while raising money for local schools. 4004 La Crescenta Ave., June 10 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
There’s always something to do in the Crescenta Valley!
