Way To Go, Joselito’s!
Congratulations to Joselito’s Mexican restaurant for winning the prestigious 2016 Open Table Diners Choice Award!
We spoke with owner Corey Grijalva who attributes Joselito’s success to his father who instilled the values of authentic cuisine and great hospitality.
“Starting out as a chef, Dad felt he would always make people happy with food that tasted great, priced right. An inspiration to me, my father’s hand drew the logo we use today.”
Corey’s first job was carrying chips and salsa at the age of 5. By 12, he advanced to dishwasher and now he is honored to continue his father’s legacy as restaurant manager.
“We’re all family here,” said Grijalva. “Many of my servers have been with us for years. My son is a delivery driver. It’s a labor of love for us and we couldn’t do this without their support or the support of the Montrose community.”
If you have yet to try Joselito’s, they are famous for fajitas, margaritas, $7.95 lunch buffet and Sunday champagne brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Joselito’s also provides catering, hosts private parties and can accommodate parties of 20-30 as a regular reservation. Try them out in person or via delivery. Accepting reservations at joselitosmontrose.com.
This week our Sunday Market features the patriotic and country music of guitarist Carmine Zeccardi … he’s very special. In our Kid’s Area we have storytelling at the Once Upon A Time booth, pony rides and the petting zoo and something new … giant, oversized Tinker toys for the kids to both play with and build. And finally, featured in the farmers’ section are apricots and pluots (cross of plums and apricots), summer squash and fresh herbs (mint, dill and sage).
