Getting Ready for the CV Chamber Scholarship Tournament

The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce scholarship golf tournament is quickly approaching. On June 27 at 7:30 a.m. golfers and golfing fans will gather at Scholl Canyon Golf Course, 3800 E. Glenoaks Blvd. in Glendale for this major Crescenta Valley event.

This year’s fundraiser is shaping up to be unforgettable. There are two major prizes that will be given away. One is a Toyota Prius provided by Bob Smith Toyota for the first participant who hits the designated hole-in-one! The other prize for a hole-in-one is a three-day Baja cruise, donated by Montrose Travel!

We host this event to raise money for academic scholarships and we have invited this year’s scholarship recipients to attend for the awards portion of the event. Businesses and individuals, members and non-members, are invited to participate.  Never mind that you’re not proficient at hitting golf balls; at least come and give it your best shot. Who knows? You could get lucky and win one of the grand prizes. (I have witnessed amateur basketball players make a basket from past center court.)

A putting contest kicks off the tournament. It is set to begin at 7:30 a.m. At 8:30 a.m., we have the “shotgun start.” The entry fee of $125 covers a single player and at $440, a four-person team is receiving a discount. The entry fee covers 18 holes of golf, a two-person golf cart, a bucket of range balls, a goody bag, refreshments on the course, a continental breakfast, and a steak and salmon lunch.

On the day of the tournament, participants have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a myriad of prizes.
