Win a new Toyota, 3-day Baja cruise or $10,000 cash! These are just some of the prizes waiting to be won at the annual scholarship golf tournament on Friday, June 22. There is still time to sign up for our tournament where you can enjoy a game of golf and help your local chamber and your community.

The tournament is a fundraiser for the Crescenta Valley High School student scholarship fund. These are outstanding graduating seniors and the Chamber’s scholarship committee did an excellent job selecting this year’s recipients. We hope you will join us as we award checks to Melissa Iyoya, Brooklin Lakin, Sena Lim, Saya Linney and Grady Schilling.

This year we’re not only raising money for the students but also for The Desi Geestman Foundation, a local philanthropy dedicated to “Touching the Lives of Children with Cancer.” Help us help them continue their good work. Your entry fee of $125 (or $440 for a foursome) includes 18 holes of golf at Scholl Canyon Golf Course, a golf cart, bucket of range balls, a goody bag, free chair massage, continental breakfast, refreshments on the course and a delicious fresh barbecued steak and salmon lunch from Zeke’s Smokehouse. Check-in is at 7 a.m. and the putting contest starts at 7:30 a.m. The shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m.

We’re quickly reaching our cap of 72 golfers, so get your registration in soon. It’s easy to sign up online at www.crescentavalleychamber.org/golf and pay with PayPal. Or just call the office and we’ll get you signed up over the phone. Oh and did I mention you could win a new Toyota, a Baja cruise or $10,000 in cash? All it takes is a hole-in-one. Also, a special thank you to our major sponsors: Bob Smith Toyota, Allure Travel by CTM, MTravel Hosting Services (formerly Montrose Travel), State Farm Chris Aristo and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital.

Looking for a taste of Spain here in Montrose? Casa Cordoba is a rustic Spanish eatery with a charming verdant patio that offers Andalusian fare, sangria and tapas. They also have a Flamenco show on Thursday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Tonight (June 14): Crescenta-Cañada Lions Club is hosting a membership drive, mixer and a fundraiser for the Fire House Youth Center. The youth center is located on the grounds of St. Luke’s of the Mountains Episcopal Church, 2563 Foothill Blvd. at the corner of Rosemont. For more information, call (818) 434-6958 or (213) 200-0184.
