“The EPA estimates that of over 20 million personal computers discarded in 1998, only 13% were reused or recycled. Of those that were recycled, over 112 million pounds of valuable materials were recovered including steel, glass, plastic and precious metals”

This Saturday we really need you to help the community and save the environment by cleaning out your garage. Why you ask? To rid yourself of all those dust collectors. You finally have a safe place to bring those old computers, televisions, monitors, printers, fax machines, copiers, or most other electronics that are old relics sitting in the back corners of the garage. Bring them to the CV Chamber office parking lot for e-recycling this Saturday, June 19. Global e-Recyclers, Inc. is organizing this event that will take place at the chamber office parking lot at Palms Plaza 3131 Foothill Blvd., La Crescenta on Saturday, June 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Global e-Recyclers, Inc. will make sure your e-waste is properly handled, disposed of and recycled. They also include identity theft protection via data destruction of your hard drives. Any questions, please call the office at (818) 248-4957.
Hopefully this hot weather doesn’t tire you out too much to clean out the garage of all your e-waste. If so, I found on the internet some great instant energy boosts. These quick, easy and inexpensive energy boosters will have you breezing along, singing a happy tune as you reach into the depths of your garage to find every last piece of recyclable e-waste.
Try a few of these easy tricks to get you energized, awake, and functioning productively: *Drink a tall glass of cold water. *Massage your ear lobes. *Brighten up the area with lights or sunlight. *Play with a toy. *Blow soap bubbles. *Try your luck with a hula-hoop. *Eat a peppermint candy. *Put on scented lotion. *Take a short brisk walk. *Look at something red. *Take some deep breaths. *Flirt with someone. *Call a good friend. *Eat a healthy snack. *Look at a picture of something that makes you happy. *Rock out to your favorite song. *Have some citrus tea. *Take a power nap. *Assume a yoga pose. *Organize a drawer. *Smile.
Make time to energize. It will make for a happier you. Then take that happy you into the garage and bring your e-waste recyclables to the Chamber office on Saturday. It will energize you to know you are helping the environment and making space in your garage.
