Join us for the 11th Annual Hot Rod & Classic Car Show on Saturday, June 30.

Mark your calendars now for our signature summer event. The 11th Annual Independence Block Party featuring our Hot Rod and Classic Car Show is coming soon. For the first time, this year’s event will take place on a Saturday – June 30 – from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. We are excited about this because all of our stores and restaurants will be open for total party time!

The action will be taking place in the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Honolulu Avenue in the Montrose Shopping Park. These two blocks will be closed to through traffic and loaded with customized hot rods and dozens of classic cars for your close up viewing. Come and see cars by Pierce-Arrow, Packard, Rolls Royce, Lincoln, Porsche and favorites including Cobra, Corvette, T-Bird, Model-A Fords, and many others in the 2300 block.

The 2400 block will play host to our 160-plus custom hot rods, including vintage race cars that will be started up twice briefly during the event to demonstrate the sound of their engines.  Not to be missed!

This is an “invitation only” event so our classic cars and hot rods are the best around. Tom Russell of Andersen’s Pets corrals the classics, while hot rod enthusiast Dave Maher wrangles the rods. Thank you, guys!

To add a touch of atmosphere, we’ve called again this year on the rock ‘n’ roll sounds of our live band, “Surfin’ With Elvis.” These guys are really good!  Come and be transported back to a time when cars and rock ‘n’ roll ruled the day.

And as you stroll along tree-lined Honolulu Avenue you will also want to take advantage of the Montrose Shopping Park’s Sidewalk Sale. It happens only twice a year and many of our stores will be participating, offering bargains beyond their usual assortments.

Bring the family, bring your friends, and enjoy the day in beautiful Old Town Montrose!
