Montrose Shop & Dine Fridays With Live Music!
Summer is officially here and with it comes Shop & Dine Fridays in the Montrose Shopping Park. The idea is to start your weekend like a vacation with live music on Honolulu Avenue from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Head right over from work for a little shopping and stay for the dining, all the while being entertained as you stroll our tree-lined streets. Some of our stores will be staying open later than usual and of course all of the restaurants are open for prime time Friday nights. It Takes A Village Kids is now open until 8 p.m. on Fridays. Their red, white and blue patriotic window beckons you to go inside for fun summer clothes and swimwear for the little ones … Café pick of the week is Thee Elbow Room that is doing a special “Flights & Bites” in honor of National Beer Week thru June 28. For $20 you get four primo craft bears paired with goodies like chicken sliders, sticky toffee pudding, sharp cheddar and more.
New Landscaping On The Way…
When MSPA Business Manager Dale Dawson (left) met with Chris Peplow from the City of Glendale Parks Dept. I tried to sneak a couple of pics and eavesdrop but alas they were on to me. What I did find out was this: The Montrose Shopping Park is being relandscaped with drought tolerant turf and plants. The grass plots will be replaced with stabilized decomposed granite, a fine, sandy gravel that doesn’t require water. Drought tolerant plants such as Morea lilies, purple flowering Society garlic, rosemary, and lavender will be added to complete the look. The work, which has already begun, takes place at night so as not to disturb business. So come on out and watch the progress. Thank you for reading. There’s always something new and exciting in Montrose, our stores, and cafes.
Thanks for shopping local. Hope to see you Friday.
