Gratitude and Gun Powder
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament! The tournament was a huge success and we couldn’t have done it without the participation of the faithful golfers of the Crescenta Valley. This year we were able to award scholarships to five deserving Crescenta Valley High School students: Melissa Iyoya, Sena Lim, Saya Linney, Grady Shilling and Brooklin Lakin. Congratulations once again! We wish you all the best and continued success in all your future endeavors!
On behalf of our president and board of directors, the Chamber would also like to take a moment to thank Panera Bread for the coffee and pastries that started the day off right. We would also like to thank Bob Smith Toyota, Allure Travel and Chris Aristo for their continued support and generous sponsorship of the tournament. If you would like an opportunity to thank Chris yourself you are invited to join us at Aristo Agency on Wednesday, July 11 at 6 p.m. for our July business mixer.
Finally, there is less than one week to go to the Crescenta Valley Fourth of July Fireworks celebration at Crescenta Valley High School. Tickets are still available at a special presale price of $9 and you can get yours here at the Chamber office as well as a number of other locations around town. Gates open at 4 p.m. and fireworks will begin after dark. There will be food trucks lined up and serving delicious summer fare, live music to keep you moving under the sun and inflatable rides so the kids can bounce around in a fun and safe environment. This event is put on every year solely by the CV Fireworks Association, which is very appreciative of any financial assistance it receives from the community. As we all know, many residents are able to view the fireworks show from open parking lots along Foothill Boulevard or from the comfort of their own home. While we all are looking for ways to cut costs, the Fireworks Association works tirelessly every year to ensure that we continue to have a Fourth of July display worth celebrating. Sponsorship from those who typically do not attend is a great way to show the Fireworks Association that we appreciate everything it does for us year after year and that we stand together as a community in celebrating our nation’s independence.
